In July 1940 Vasily Egorovich was called up to the ranks of the Soviet Army. In August 1941 – December 1942 he was sent to Iran on a special assignment. Since 1942 to 1945 he was engaged in military actions with the tank forces of the 2nd Belarus Front at the Soviet-German front. Vasily Egorovich conquered Warsaw and Koenigsberg. Participated in the meeting of American forces on Elba. In 1945 he quitted the Soviet Army as a senior lieutenant.

Lived in Donetsk region, Ukraine.

At present time he is the People’s Artist of the USSR and full-fledged member of the Russian Academy of Arts. Professional calligrapher.
