In 1943 new 600 kg-gun was invented, ZIS-3 weighted 1200kg. In 40-s was worked out 152 –mm canon put on a caterpillar carriage of a heavy howitzer. Its shell was 49 kg weight, the distance covered – up to 25 km, later 210mm canon was invented.

Katyusha

Katyusha

Katyusha – is a name for rocket launchers. In the beginning of 1941 mounted trucks BM-13 appeared. On the truck there was put a package of 16 guides in the form of rails, which in 8-10 sec fired out 1248 kg of dynamite at a range of 9 km. The machine was ready to shoot in 2-3 min. After making a salvo the machine had to make a reload. The efficiency was achieved by “feathers” of a shell. Through the year of the war were invented new types of shells and launchers: 24,36,48 shells of 132 and 300mm.

Anti-tank guns

To the beginning of Great Patriotic War gunmen created anti-tank guns PTRD (V.A.Dyagterev) and PTRS(S.G.Simonov) with armour-piercing 14,5 mm bullet. Two men served the gun. It was the time when Russia lacked anti-tank artillery, PTR was widely used against fascist tanks. In 1943 at the battle-field on Orlovsko-Kurskaya duga sergeant Denisov brought down two German bombers.

Automatic air-defense weapon

Automatic air-defense weapon is rapid-fire gun with a circle built-up area and high angle of elevation for plane-bombing. The gun was placed on a mount and transported on a truck. Accompanying moving troops it defended them from unexpected planes. Armour-piercing shell of заряд air-defense weapon pierced all the German tanks through.
