With the dawn on June 22, 1941 regular troops of the German army attacked our front borders from the Baltic to the Black Sea and in the first half of the day hampered them. In the afternoon the German troops met point units of the field forces of the Red Army. After fierce fighting the enemy was repulsed with heavy losses.

Our aircraft continued to inflict massive blows to motor parts, infantry and artillery and destroyed the enemy planes on the ground. According to incomplete statistics, during August 30, 31 enemy planes were destroyed during aerial fighting. We lost 16 planes.
