With the dawn on June 22, 1941 regular troops of the German army attacked our front borders from the Baltic to the Black Sea and in the first half of the day hampered them. In the afternoon the German troops met point units of the field forces of the Red Army. After fierce fighting the enemy was repulsed with heavy losses.

During the night of July 1, fighting continued in Murmansk, Dvinsk, Lutsk and Bobruisk directions.

At night of August 1, fighting continued in Novorzhevsk, Smolensk and Zhitomir directions. In other directions and other front parts there were no large combat operations.
